Cervarix cervical cancer vaccine
Cervarix cervical cancer vaccination being administered. Cervarix prevents infection from certain strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV), which are associated with the development of cervical cancer. It is designed to prevent against virus strains 16 and 18 and also offers some protection against virus strains 45 and 31. It contains the adjuvant AS04, which boots the response of the immune system to the vaccine. Cervarix is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline.
