Rash from deep heat cream. Rash (centre left) on the knee of a 66-year-old man, caused by deep heat cream. The rash is a reaction of the skin to the chemicals in the cream. Deep heat creams are used to provide warmth and relief from muscle and joint pain. The heat promotes blood flow, speeding the healing process. The rash will heal if use of the cream is discontinued.
