Pollination
A long-horned bee (Eucera longicornis) attempts to mate with an Ophrys scolopax orchid. The orchid flower imitates in shape, color, and smell of the female long-horned bee. Fooled by the decoy, male bees mount the flower. In the process, the head of the bee brushes against the pollinaria of the flower and pollen is released onto the bee's head. The bee then transfers the pollen to other flowers.
