This axial (cross section) CT image of the abdomen shows a large aneurysm of the abdominal aorta at the level of the left kidney which is visible because of contrast (dye) which appears white. A large portion of the aneurysm does not fill with the contrast agent (dye) because it is partially thrombosed (clotted).
