Weather predictions, 1696 artwork
Description:
Weather predictions, artwork published in Specula Physico-Mathematico-Historica (1696), an encyclopedia of science by the German monk and author Johann Zahn (1641-1707). The text is in Latin, and the symbols down center and across center represent the Moon, Sun and the planets. The lower right and lower left corners contain text about the seasons. The main box contains text about the weather, depending on the alignment of the heavenly bodies. The lower half of the chart is doubled up to accommodate changes due to the seasons.
