Description: Celtic necklace. View of an elaborately crafted golden Celtic necklace during its excavation from soil taken from a grave at Glauberg near Frankfurt in Germany. The grave also held a statue of the druid nobleman who lay in it, along with other gold and bronze offerings. These gold items have shown that the Celts were better goldsmiths than their Roman contemporaries. The man in the grave has been named the Glauberg Giant due to his great height. The Celts dominated western and central Europe during the first millennium B.C. Photographed in the Glauberg excavation laboratories at the State Department of Archaeology in Wiesbaden, Germany.
