The Old Man of Storr, Isle of Skye
Description:
The Old Man of Storr, Isle of Skye, Scotland, after a winter snow storm. This set of eroded basalt rock pinnacles is located high up on a rocky hill known as the Storr. The hill reaches an elevation of 719 meters above sea level, while the pinnacles of the Old Man formation are some 50 meters high (only the upper parts seen here). This view looks towards the south, with the waters of the Sound of Raasay at lower left, part of the Island of Rassay at center left, and mountains on the Skye mainland in the distance.
