The olfactory epithelium is thicker than respiratory epithelium and is identified by the presence of large number of underlying unmyelinated nerves. These are the pale purple round structures between the epithelium (red) and ethmoid bone (yellow). Magnification: x40 when printed at 10 centimeters wide.
