Moldy bread

Description: Moldy bread. This mold fungus (white) has spread over the surface of the bread, producing a network of fine filaments (hyphae). It has also produced a mass of spores (green), which may spread to infect other food. The fungus penetrates the bread, digesting and absorbing nutrients. Various species of fungus are classed as bread molds.
