London Eye
Description:
London Eye, formerly known as the Millennium Wheel, London, England. Seen from across the Thames River, this is the tallest observational, or Ferris, wheel in the world at 135 metres high. Opened in 2000, 32 observation pods can each carry 25 people on the 30 minute trip. The view from the top of this 1600 tonne structure can be over 40 kilometres. The London Eye was designed by David Marks and Julia Barfield, and is sponsored by British Airways.
