Description:
M28 is a globular cluster in the constellation Sagittarius. Slightly elliptical in shape, it is around 80 light-years across and some 18000 light-years away. This image, stretched to show the inner regions which are usually saturated in most pictures of the cluster, was created from data taken in November 1998 at the KPNO 0.9-meter telescope. Image size 8.5 arc minutes.
