Description:
Giant Allosaurus dinosaur. Artwork of Allosaurus (or Saurophaganax) maximus, a giant carnivorous dinosaur from the late Jurassic period, about 150 million years ago. Although this species is known only from a few bone fragments, it is estimated to have reached as much as 14 metres (m) in length, 2 to 4 m longer than the more familiar A. fragilis. It was comparable in size to Tyrannosaurus rex.
