Exoplanet, Kepler-10b
Description:
The rocky molten surface of Kepler-10b. This is the first rocky planet discovered in the kepler mission. It orbits at a distance more than 20 times closer to its parent star than Mercury is to our own Sun. The color in the image represents the molten surface of the planet. Studies show that temperatures exceed 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit which is hotter than lava flows on Earth.
