Courgettes

Description: Courgettes, also known as zucchini, belong to the same family as marrows and cucumbers and are usually harvested in a young, unripe stage. They can vary from creamy white or yellow to a mottled light or rich dark green. The difference in colour doesn't mean there's a difference in flavour. Some courgettes have a smooth skin, others have a slightly ribbed skin. Mini courgettes and courgette flowers are also available. Along with certain other squashes and pumpkins, it belongs to the species Cucurbita pepo giromontiina.
