Condenser tubes
Description:
Condenser tubes. Computer-enhanced image of three glass condenser tubes. These coils are used in distillation reactions to prevent liquid being lost by evaporation during heating. Cold water is passed through the tubes, which causes gas to condense into liquid on the outer surface. The resulting liquid then drips into a collector which passes the liquid back to the reaction vessel.
