Description:
Color enhanced phase microscopy of the 2-cell stage in arbacia punctulata. When the zygote is maintained at 22 or 25 degrees centigrade the two cell stage develops at approximately seventy minutes after fertilization. The mitotic apparatus as well a some sperm which did not penetrate the egg is evident. Approximate magnification 450x @ 5x7 inches.
