Boyle's Law demonstration
Description:
Boyle's Law demonstration. A barely-inflated balloon is put inside a vacuum bell. The bell is connected to a vacuum pump. A pressure gauge is used to monitor the pressure. When the pump is turned on, the gauge shows that the pressure decreases inside the bell and thus inside the balloon as well. The size of the balloon gets larger. According to the Boyle's Law, the volume of air trapped inside the balloon must increase with the decreasing pressure.
