Boltzmann's entropy formula
Description:
Boltzmanns equation asserts that entropy (S) can be measured in terms of the number of possible microstates of a given macrostate (an example of a macrostate would be a wall made with a given supply of bricks. The possible ways the bricks can be arranged are microstates). More specifically, the formula shows the relation between entropy and the number of ways in which all the atoms and molecules of a thermodynamic system can be arranged.
