Banana Slug
Description:
Banana slug, Ariolimax columbianus. While most banana slugs are yellow and owe their common name to a fanciful resemblance to a banana, they can also be tan, green, brown or spotted. Banana slugs can reach close to 10 inches in length and feed on both living and dead plant material, animal droppings and other organic matter. Photo taken under natural conditions in the Ho Rainforest, Olympic Peninsula, WA.
