Art of planet and Pleiades stars
Description:
Pleiades and planet. Artwork of a planet (right) in the vicinity of the Pleiades star cluster (M45). The planet is seen eclipsing a star. The Pleiades is a group of some 400 stars which occupy a sphere around 30 light years in diameter. They lie around 400 light years away in the constellation Taurus. The stars are all very young, about 50 million years old, and are still swathed in the nebulosity from which they formed. This is visible as blue streaks as the gas and dust particles reflect the light of the young stars.
