Description: False-color satellite image of the whole Earth, centered on the Americas. The continent of North America is at top left, with South America in the bottom right quadrant. Thin, low-level clouds are shown as orange-brown, thicker cloud areas are shown as white (pink close to the limb). A swirling, white hurricane cell is clearly seen just above center in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. This image was made from data gathered by the GOES-East satellite in geostationary orbit above the equator at 75 degrees west longitude in 1983.
